It’s important to pay attention to both growing your strengths and resources (the holding on) and also processing any negative experiences that are weighing you down (the letting go).

- Rumi

Life is a balance of holding on and letting go

Some of the issues I help people with are:

I offer psychotherapy to adults over 18 years of age for a personalized approach to help you navigate life’s challenges, treat past trauma, and maintain progress in therapy.

EMDR works by removing mental blocks caused by traumatic experiences, allowing your mind to heal just as your body would from a physical injury. It has shown remarkable effectiveness in treating a wide range of conditions, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, phobias, and chronic stress. Recognized by leading health organizations worldwide, EMDR offers a faster path to healing compared to traditional methods, providing lasting relief and renewed emotional resilience.

As an experienced EMDR therapist, I have trained and practiced from many different modalities and approaches. I curate an individualized treatment plan that pulls from a variety of evidence-based practices such as mindfulness therapy, CBT, DBT-informed practices, polyvagal theory, and Internal Family Systems. I also provide recommendations for further reading, listening and watching for my clients’ based on their interests, energy and time resources.

Therapy Intensives

For some people, the traditional one hour weekly/biweekly therapy model works for them. For others, it can often prove challenging to commit to, and sustain change over time.

Therapy intensives concentrate multiple sessions into a shorter period. An example would be meeting for a 3 hour session at once (an intensive) instead of three separate one hour sessions over a few weeks. Intensives allow you to dive more deeply into your therapeutic work on your schedule. They are a great option for busy professionals, parents or anyone pressed for time.

Recent research has shown that the progress from one hour of intensive therapy is equal to two hours of regular hourly therapy. The reasons for this are often related to the longer period of time for processing. We’re able to get into the ‘flow’ of processing more easily in an intensive than the short period of time in an hour session.

✓ Can accelerate your progress and provide deep, lasting relief
✓ Achieve profound emotional shifts and a greater sense of peace and well-being in a shorter amount of time
✓ Rapidly decrease symptoms
✓ Accelerate current therapy

the benefits are:

The Process:

The intensive format combines resource development (skills, strategies, inventory of strengths, successes, positive experiences), processing difficult experiences, and time for integration in between processing phases of the assessment. No, we are not just talking the whole time! The integration time consists of an offering of movement, rest and digest (snack, quiet, meditation) and of course, the comfort of my little hypo-allergenic dog Pepper throughout.

1. 90-minute assessment to identify goals and resources for processing

2. A choice of 2-hour, 3-hour or 4-hour intensives which can be EMDR processing or a curated treatment plan of other therapeutic approaches planned in the assessment. If longer intensives are requested, we would develop a program for you.

3. 90-minute review session after intensive series to review progress towards goals and next steps if needed.
